Mad AirCon might be because it's spat a few teeth
Have you ever thought that your 164's AirCon is a bit mad from time to time? Can you hear the motors turning when the AirCon system changes settings? Maybe demist has gone altogether or perhaps you can hear some loud clicks. These are all signs that the cheap nylon gears in the AirCon systems's stepper motor have excessively worn or have spat a few teeth.
My 164 had this problem and it was solved by fitting AlfaPro's 164 AirCon replacement stepper motor gears.
